岩石濱臺在澎湖群島的分布相當廣闊,為了瞭解岩性、構造如何影響一地濱臺地形的發育,本文選擇波能環境相似,卻具多樣海岸岩性、構造、地形的西嶼大池海岸進行調查。透過剖線地形、岩石強度、節理密度的量測與分析發現,大池海岸的岩體抗力雖具差異,但濱臺寬度的變異卻不大,綜合風化程度測量、野外地形證據與文獻均顯示本區的濱臺可能已達「極限寬度」。此外,影響本區的濱臺高度與濱臺類型最重要的因素是岩石強度,當岩石強度越高,濱臺面則越高,並分布B型的近水平濱臺。由於本區軟硬岩層的交界面具有空間的高度變化,受海水侵蝕作用後,因而形成南低北高,南A型北B型的多樣性濱臺地形。
The well developed shore platforms which could reach 3 to 5 km at lowest tide fringe Penghu Islands. The main purpose of the study is to clarity the influence of lithology and geological structure on shore platform morphology development. Therefore, we chose Dachi Coast as studying area, which is facing to open sea and the coastline directions are similar. Also, various morphology and lithology of Cliff and shore platform can be found there. Based on the result of field investigation of the shore platform morphology, rock strengths, joint density, and the weathering index, we found that the shore platform seem to reach a equilibrium width. In addition, the rock strength is the primary control for the height and pattern of shore platform. However, the height of interface of weaker mudstone and hard basalt are various. The height of interface is lower in the south coast and the exposure of thick and soft mudstone may contribute to the lower platform surface and Type A shore platform, in contrast to higher and Type B shore platform in the north coast.
