Purpose: There are ten to thirty million children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) in Taiwan. In clinics, it usually use balance plate for training the balance ability of the children with DCD. However, the balance training products for children emphasized the light, friendly-used, and safe lack balance ability assessment function. This project develops a balance training and assessment system for children. Methods: The system takes balance plate as foundation and combines with acceleration sensor, PC interactive interface, and data base. This system is designed as a game by Visual Basic that bee seeks the flower. There are five programs for testing children’s balance ability in this game: Mobile ability test, Mean spending time test, Up-down and Left-right test, Multiple-orientation test, Sensitivity of the center of mass moving test. They be analyze the different between the five programs. Results: It can be found the results of Mobile ability test, Up-down and Left-right test, and Multiple-orientation test demonstrated the balance ability in children increase with age. Conclusions: It evidences this system enable to assess balance ability for children.
