本研究旨在探討公立高中學生休閒運動參與動機之現況。比較不同背景變項之公立高中學生休閒運動參與動機之差異情形，研究對象係以苗栗縣公立高中100學年度第二學期之在學學生為研究母群體，採分層隨機抽樣調查；共計發放1620份問卷，有效回收問卷共計1436份，回收有效率為88.64%。研究結果資料以描述性統計，以及t檢定、單因子變異數分析和皮爾遜積差相關進行統計分析，研究結果如下：苗栗縣公立高中學生休閒運動參與動機之現況，各構面分量表得分高低依序為「健康適能」、「舒壓」、「心理」、「知性」及「社交」。高中學生整體休閒運動參與動機，在不同性別、學校規模、社經環境與運動參與天數構面達顯著差異水準，而不同年級、社經背景、父母職業等構面未達顯著水準。

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of recreational sports participation motivation of public senior high school students, as well as to compare the difference in recreational sports participation motivation of public senior high school students. This study selected the students studying in the second semester in public senior high schools in Mianli County in 2011 academic year as the population. This study used stratified random sampling to distribute a total of 1,620 questionnaires, and 1,436 valid questionnaires were returned, with a valid return rate of 88.64%. This study used descriptive statistics, t test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson Product-moment correlation to perform statistical analyses on the data. The research results were as follows: For the current status of recreational sports participation motivation of public senior high school students in Miaoli County, the score of subscales of various dimensions from the highest to the lowest was: ＂physical fitness,＂ ＂pressure relieving,＂ ＂psychology,＂ ＂intellectuality,＂ and ＂social interactions.＂ The difference in gender, school scale, socioeconomic environment, and number of days of sports participation had a significant effect on the overall recreational sports participation motivation of senior high school students. However, the different in dimensions, such as grade, socioeconomic background, and occupation of parents did not have a significant effect on it.
