The study aims to observe conjunct ion usage in discourse among intermediate level Japanese learners in Taiwan, also tries to find out whether their discourse would be affected by their native language. Data that are used to analyze are collected from their monolog personal narratives. In order to understand learners’ characterisics as well as native Japanese discourse is analyzed as its comparative data. Quantity and quality analysis are applied particularly to conjunctions and conjunctive particles. In addition, further comparison is made with other native Chinese discourse to seek possibilities from native language influences. In short , these educational viewpoints can be used to better understand students’ learning preferences and acquirements and in the classrooms as well.
