This article describes and clarifies the organisational structure and personnel of the Procuratura dos Negócios Sínicos in the late Qing Dynasty using Portuguese documentation published in the Official Gazette. The Procuratura was divided into divisions of translation and administration and justice, the Agent of the Public Prosecutors Attached to the Procuratura was in fact a Portuguese public prosecutor. The reform in 1885 detach the translation division from the Procuratura to become an independent service. The judiciary reform in 1894 in Portugal put an end to the Procuratura dos Negócios Sínicos.
