本文介紹英國學者 Dr. Brian Butterworth (Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London England)與法國學者Dr. Stanislas Dehaene (INSERMCEA Cognitive Neuroimaging Unit)近年來以認知神經為基礎所進行的 數學學習、數學發展及數學教育的研究成果;更重要的是討論這些研究成果對相關領域的可能影響。另外,也從學界對科學化的教育研究的實質意涵之論辯與神經計量學(neurometrics)的興起,探討數學教育未來在研究方向與方法論上的一些可能發展。
