「ニュースの日本語」という教科は、実社会の場面で使用されている日本語を学習者に体得させるためのものである。教科書の使われることが多い通常科目と異なり、等身大の日本社会を勉強できまたそれにとどまらず、ニュースをどう解釈するか、他人にどう伝えるかなど、日本語学習者にとって母語と日本語を同時に操る力が身につく良い機会である。本稿は「ニュースの日本語」で「まわしよみ新聞」作りのプロジェクト学習を援用した授業デザインを試みた。プロジェクト学習の明確なステップを利用し、「新聞で遊ぶ」を提唱している「まわしよみ新聞」作りを経て、日本語で読むこと。話し合いによる記事の解釈•紙面デザイン•制作そして中国語で発表などのような総合型学習を目指した。その結果として、各ステップが狙う「身につく力」をコーチングすることによって、学習者は「身につくかをあらかじめ意識し、意図的にその能力を高めることができた。学習者の内省をみることで、学習者が既習の日本語の過不足を改めて認識し、それを解決するために他人に自分の意思を伝える力をどう強化するかを考えるという積極的な学習観が明らかになった。さらに、成長確認のステップでの全体の振り返りでは、このプロジェクトで顕著な成長ができたという内省も記された。|"Japanese in news" is a subject in Japanese language course which is devoted to make the learners acquire Japanese used in the actual society. Unlike other ordinary subjects that utilizes textbooks which consist of "normalized" contents, "Japanese in news" gives opportunity for the learners to acquire skills to operate both their native and Japanese language by learning, for instance, not only the actual Japanese society, but also how to interpret and get across to individual news. This paper is a case study report in "Japanese in news" class, designed from Project Based Learning (PBL) utilizing "mawashi-yomi shimbun" (lit. "passed-around newspaper": a group activity to edit a hand-made newspaper which consists of several interrelated articles, excerpted in a thorough theme from newspapers which are passed around among the group). The author aimed a comprehensive learning of reading Japanese, comprehension of news articles by discussion, editing, production and presentation in Chinese by the "shimbun", which advocates "playing by newspapers", used in the plain steps of PBL. In the result, by informing/coaching "skills that would be acquired by following each step", the learners were able to be conscious and intentional of the skills which were aimed to acquire. Analyzing the memoirs by the learners, an active attitude to recognize the lack in their Japanese competence and to think about a solution to strengthen their communication skills was revealed. In addition, the learners described reflections that they achieved a significant result in the Project in the step for retrospective view for checking of progress
