Agriculture is the most direct way for people to contact with land. Nowadays most people living in cities do not farm and become detached from the natural world. As food safety and other environmental issues arise, more people have begun to participate in agricultural experience to explore nature. The objectives of this study were as follows: (a) to identity the design method and processes applicable to agricultural activities; and (b) to apply the aforementioned methods to the case of Ailiao community in Taiwan. Appropriate study designs were developed by exploring service design methods found in the existing literature. Subsequently, the study participants' agricultural experiences were collected through in-depth interviews and the current situation of an agricultural experience provider (i.e., the Ailiao community in Jiji Township, Nantou County, Taiwan) was obtained via observations. Finally, all of the collected data were analyzed using a focus group method and affinity diagrams, based on which agricultural experiences suitable for the Ailiao community can be developed. The study results may serve as a reference to relevant personnel when designing agricultural experiences in the future.
