這篇論文用建構主義的概念來分析新加坡意外的建國與追求絕對的生存之道。每一個國家獲得國家地位的方式不盡相同，每一個國家的生存之道也自然不同。國家所屬的全球或者國內環境的文化或者制度因素塑造了國家的認同。位處馬來海洋中的島國新加坡如何在脆弱性中維持國家的生存是本論文所探討的主題。本論文先分析新加坡在獨立前的背景，獨立之際的國內外政治環境，接著論述獨立後的小國生存之道，借此反思台灣人應該清楚認知台灣立國的文化環境，時時警惕台灣為脆弱的國家，進而發展清晰的戰略以維持國家的永續生存。

This article applies constructivism to analyze Singapore's accidental founding of the nation and its pursuit of absolute survival. The way in which each country gains its national status varies from country to country and thus the ways for survival are naturally different. The cultural or institutional factors of the global or domestic environment to which the country belongs shape the national identity. How Singapore, an island nation located in the Malay oceans maintaining the nation's survival in the context of vulnerability has been the subject of discussion in this paper. This article first analyzes Singapore's background before independence and the political environment both at home and abroad after independence. Then it discusses the survival of a small country after its independence. In this way, it reflects that Taiwan should clearly understand the cultural environment of Taiwan's founding as a nation and be aware of Taiwan's fragile, and then develop a clear strategy to maintain the country's perpetual survival.
