管理學者Glueck根據Downs & Jauch的研究發現,會說「企業之成長、衰退及其他大幅變動的主要原因是來自外界環境因素,而非內部原因造成的」。因此近年來,組織理論學者的注意力已經從組織內(intraorganization)轉移至組織間(interorganization)的相互關係上;而策略管理學日漸重視由企業間相互合作所共同制定與施行所謂的「合作策略」(collective strategy),也充分反應出著重組織與環境關係的「組織關聯」(interorganizational relations)行為,在學理與應用上的日漸重要。本研究以國內大型企業為對象,進行實證研究,探討產業及企業間的資源依賴企業經由董監事連結所構成的組織關聯行爲間的關係,並進一步計論企業的董監事連結行為對事業風險及財務報酬的影嚮。 木研究的主要結果為: (一)董監事連結行為與企業的資源依賴關係有弄顯著正向的關係。 (二)傳統上認為企業透過連結行為可以增加對資源及資訊的掌握,並導致績效的改善。不過本研究經由細分不同連結行為類型,再探討其與績效間(事業風險與財務報酬)的關係時發現,不同連結行為與績效的關係並不一致,有些連結行為與績效有顯著的正面影響,有些則正相反,也有些與績效無關,同時產業間的差異也很大。這項結果說明瞭連結行為必須加以適當的管理,才能發揮其預期的正效果,否則也可能未蒙其利,先受其害。其次,連結行為與績效的關係十分複雜,要了解彼此的關係,仍有待研究人員在理論與實證上的繼續努力。
