The study tries to understand meanings of tones, pronouncing locations, tone worth and symbles in Chinese language, so as to realize that the four tones in Chinese language are different from those dialects, such as: the seven tones of Southern Fukein dialect, the nine tones of Kwangtungnese, the six tones of Tao-Yuan Hakkas dialect. Therefore, we may clearly understand: the fewer of tones, the easier for the teacher and learner to distinguish and to learn. The four tones in Chinese language are similar in their worth and Iength. There is no "quick and short" entering tone; also the four tones have their own characteristics individually; it is imm-possible to mix them up. At the same time, the writter tries to arrange and list all rhythems and syllables in Chinese language in order to match "theory and practice", so to improve the teaching and learning of the standard Chines language.
