This paper uses a CGE model to show the effect of Taiwan's trade liberalization policy on macro-economic variables. In distinction from the existing literatures, this study considers one feature of Taiwan's market structure in manufacturing, a competitive export market co-existing with a monopolistic (concentrated) domestic market, that is a so-called dichotomous market structure. The empirical results suggest weaker import discipline in more highly concentrated industries.
