本文係利用隨機性生產邊界模型與Translog生產函數估計台灣18個三欄
位製造業生產技術效率，並計算各業別內廠商的技術效率分配，以及分析產業間
效率差異的因素。賀證資料取自1990年經濟部工廠校正調查個別廠商的謂查磁
帶。實證結果發現:(1)在18個產業中，技術效率最高的產業為「非金屬製品業」，
較低的為「汽車及其零件製造業」與「木竹製品業」(2)除了「金屬製品業」、「玻
璃及玻璃製品業」與「製造專用生產機械製造業」生產規模呈現遞增規模報酬外，
其它產業大多接近固定規模報酬;(3)在18個產業中，有13個產業的外銷導向廠商
其平均效率較國內市場導向廠商平均效率為高，而且統計檢定上呈現顯著性差
異;(4)影響產業間效率差異的三個變數為產業集中度、產業平均外銷比率，以及
研究發展密集度，其符號皆為正值，但統計上並不顯著地異於零。
In this paper, we employ the composed-error stochastic productionfunction
to estimate the level of technical efficiency in Taiwan manufacturing industries. We
use the translog production function tospecify the production frontier. The data used
in this study aredrawn from the 1990 individual manufacturing establishment survey,
classified by three-digit industrial class. The final empiricalresults are available for 18
out of 25 industries. According to theLee-Tyler estimator of average efficiency) the
indexes are distributedfrom 0.541 to 0.821. Constant returns to scale are prevalent in
mostindustries. The empirical evidence obtained on the inter-industrydeterminants of
technical efficiency indicates that the export ratio,concentration ratio, and RfeD
intensity have positive impacts onefficiency, but the coefficients are not statistically
significant.
