　　　　　本文係介紹並探討大學圖書館進行組織變革之概況與過程，作者首先描述大學環 境的資訊服務現況，並簡介組織再生工程（reengineering）的理論與實務。本文復提供讀 者國外著名學府進行圖書館組織變革的諸多範例，隨後作者將舉證一個目前正在國內進行 的個案來闡述落實圖書館組織再生工程的前瞻理想。在元智工學院個案中，作者將針對該 專案的緣起、遭逢困難、執行方式，以及未來構想做一詳盡介紹。
　　　　　This article aims at exploring the emerging issue of "Reengineering University Library". The author first describes the current practices of information services on university campus and the theory of reengineering. Several examples are then provided, following by a under-going real case in Yuan-Ze University. In Yuan-Ze's case, the author will articulate the background, enconuntered problems, and show how this innovative idea works (and will work)in the real world.
