     在推動科學教育興革的道路上,過去的經驗告訴我們,科學教育績效是不是能夠彰顯,教師素質的良窳是其中最主要的關鍵。因此,欲落實科學教育革新的成效,首要之務當在提昇科學教師的素質,這種想法在中外皆然,例如Moore (1994) 在去年的The American Biology Teacher 中即曾特別強調: "There is nothing more important to improving science education than teachers" 。 近年來,國內教育改革的步調甚為快速,尤其是在師資教育方面,「師資培育法」的公布施行,使我國的師資培育從此邁向了多元管道的時代。本質上,師資培育管道多元化的目的應在提昇各級學校師資的素質,然而,就目前「師資培育法」及其相關規定的內涵言,師資培育管道的多元化是否真能達到提昇師資素質的目標,則頗值得我們來共同探討。因此,今天我就以「中等學校生物師資教育」為主題,試著藉回顧過去與前瞻未來的過程,來檢視一下師資素質的前景,並供規畫師資教育學程與實施教師資格檢定的參考。雖然主題談的是生物師資,不過,我想對於其它學科也多少應該可以提供些許借鏡。
