     近幾年來,Nicholls ( 1989 )的目標取向理論已廣泛的被用來探討在運動中的 動機歷程與行為( Duda, 1992 )。除了探討在成就情境中不同的目標取向特質與情境對個 體的認知歷程與後續成就行為的影響外, 目標取向理論並提出動機的發展觀念。 Nicholls ( 1984,1989 )認為經由發展的過程造成兒童對能力及努力的分化, 進而對能力的了解漸 趨成熟。他發現兒童一直要到十二歲左右才會達到完全分化的階段。過去有關動機理論的探 討中往往忽略了兒童能力概念的發展因素,尤其是一般有關動機的研究以兒童為對象的動機 研究中大多缺乏對兒童能力概念發展的認識,因而忽略了年齡發展的改變可能對兒童心理歷 程及身體發展所造成的影響。因此,本文的目的在於介紹目標取向理論的發展觀點和一些相 關的實徵研究,以作為未來運動動機研究的參考。
