　　　　　本文探討外人直接投資對臺灣製造業產生之波及效果，迴歸模型中應變數分別以國內廠商的勞動生產力及技術效率作為衡量指標。實證資料取自 1986 年與 1991 年行政院主計處對臺閩地區工商普查與抽樣調查的磁帶。實證結果發現，外資對我國製造業廠商所引發的生產力波及效果並不顯著。若進一步將產業區分為低技術差距與高技術差距兩種類型，則發現在 1986 年國內廠商與外資廠商技術差距較小的產業，外資對提升國內廠商的勞動生產力具有明顯正面的幫助。至於技術差距較大的產業，外資則沒有帶來生產力上的波及效果。

　　　　　This article uses Taiwan Manufacturing Census data for 1986 and 1991 to investigate the spillovers from foreign direct investment (FDI). Two indexes are used to measure the degree of FDI spillovers: the labor productivity and technical efficiency of locally-owned plants. The results indicate that there is no significant spillovers from FDI. However, when the two sectors are separated by the size of the technology gap between the locally-owned plants and the foreign plants, we find a positive and statistically significant spillover effect in the low technology gap sector in 1986. In contrast, there were no strong signs of spillovers in either 1986 or 1991 if the technology gap was large.
