　　　　　犯罪偵查是一項需要偵查人員全心投入智力、時間的工作，但是在此同時，偵查人員或偵查工作是否須具備其他要件，方足使偵查工作獲致成功結果，本研究經由文獻探討、問卷調查、統計分析等方法，探討「刑案成功偵查因素」，發現刑案偵查雖以「偵查方法」運用為主要部分，但「精神因素」實佔有更重要地位，惟兩者係屬相輔相成性質，期本研究結果能提供偵查人員培養與訓練之參考，以有助於未來偵查犯罪成效。犯罪偵查乃是一種介於警察與犯罪者之間對於線索跡證的爭戰(Wilmer, 1970)，一旦警察開始注意某人，並視其為犯罪嫌疑人時，則該人之自由與權利可能陷於潛在被侵犯狀態，隨時可能遭受實質侵害。因此，警政管理者有必要瞭解所有可能最具民主敏感性的偵查方法。(Kuykendall, 1982)，為將有限刑事偵查警力擺在可能成功偵查的刑案上，以提昇偵查績效及避免警力浪費，(Osterburg and Ward, 1992)對於司法程序深具關鍵性地位之偵查方法及影響刑案成功偵查之可能因素，乃為本研究之重點。
