陳維崧是歷代詞人詞作最豐富，《湖海樓全集》中詞有三十卷，一千多首詞中內容無所不包，其中以關心民生疾苦的社會詞，最具特色之一。 陳維崧關心民生疾苦與他所處的時代背景、個人的經歷、個性有極大關係，他是明以氣節著稱的四大公子之後，亡國破家後，又久試不中，漂泊江湖、仰人提攜。加上他悲天憫人、友愛手足的個性，及他的詞學觀念，是為「存經存史」，因此在康熙八年以後，他在道途中所接觸所看到者，皆是農人因雨災、因黃河氾濫、因稅收、因苛政、因戰爭、因貧富不均，所造成的痛苦、不平等。他藉詞來補察時政，宣洩民情。 他的社會詞指出一、賦稅嚴苛；二、農民苦雨；三、戰爭帶給百姓的災難；四、感嘆貧富懸殊；五、收成欠佳、物價昂貴，內容非常豐富，真實的探討社會問題。他是詞史上第一個用詞記錄民生疾苦者，因為他創作社會詞，使我們窺知在康熙盛世時，清社會真實的黑暗面。陳維崧社會詞的貢獻是，一、存史；二、存典章制度；三、拓展詞境；四、提高詞的地位。陳維崧不僅是清偉大的詞人，他的社會詞是詞史上的光輝與突破。

　　　　　Chen Wei Sung's work of Tsyr was the most abundant in the successive generations. Chen's "Complete Works of Fu Hai Lo" included 30 books of Tsry, which collected more than 1000 pieces work of Tsyr and nothing was excluded. One of the characteristic of Chen's work was Social Tsyr which concerns livelihood of the people. Chen's care about social livelihood could be strongly related to his contemporary background, personal expereience and individual character. He was the descendant of the Four Integrity Men of Ming Dynasty and experienced the ruin of Ming Dynasty, broken family, flunking the examination for official career and depending on receiving guidance and support from others. Moreover, becasue of his characater of sorrowing over miseries and concept of preserving literature, what he met after 8th year of Kang Hsi was unfairness and painfulness to farmers caused by taxation, flooding, harsh government, war and unven distribution of wealth. He monitored government administration and expressed public opinions by writing Tsyr. The content of Chen's Social Tsyr discussed social problems, which pointed out heavy tax, the catastrophe brought by war, high commodity price casued by lack of harvest. He was the one who first use Tsyr to record the fact of his contemporary social life. Becasue of his literatury work, we are able to peek the dark side of Ching society during the period of Kang Hsi. The contribution of Chen's Social Tsyr included: 1. recording history, 2. preserving regulation and system, 3. expanding the territory of Tsyr, 4. promoting the position of Tsyr. His social Tsyr was a glory and break through in the Tsyr's history.
