語言是萬物之靈的人類所僅有。當人類尚在胎兒時期就知道如何以身體語言與自 己的母體溝通。等到出世以後,其語言的發展尤為快速。其語言能力也隨著其所處之環境而 變化,尤其與身邊互動的照顧者---父母之指導有極大的相關。 語言的發展在幼兒期是一個非常關鍵的時刻。有許多的研究都在強調幼兒早期語言學習 的重要性。身為第一位幼兒教師的父母,有責任以最有效益的策略帶領幼兒以提升其語言能 力。幼兒教育是一種四兩撥千斤的工作。為人父母者若錯失了幼兒期的輔導,以後再花多大 的心力也無法予以彌補。 本文之主要目的,即在透過探討幼兒早期語言獲得與發展之相關理論,並尋找其影響發 展之因素,進而綜合各家說法,分析父母應如何指導幼兒以促進其語言能力。

Language is a necessary and an important instrument for all the human beings. The process of young children's language development and acquisition become a challenge for us to understand. When one was in the womb, he/she had had the non-linguistic communication ability. After he/she is born, the language develops very fast. Early childhood is a significant period, it is a very effective time for us to help young children acquire language. The parent is the first teacher of the young children. It is in this crucial period that the young children need parents at home to help them promote their language development. If we miss the very important time to assist them, it is very difficult for us to make up for their loss. The purposes of this papers is to approach the young children's language development; its acquisition; factors influence young children's language development; and how a parent should do to promote the young children's language development.
