     本研究目的在就幼兒書寫的作品來探討南台灣幼兒寫字發展的階段性,並印證中西方幼兒 書寫發展的階段性是相似的,本研究對象為一群二歲∼六歲的學齡前幼兒。他們依照老師所書寫的 字“生日快樂”來進行寫字的活動。研究資料顯示:觀察幼兒所書寫的作品,可推論出其年齡層及 其發展的階段性;可印證中西方幼兒的書寫發展是相似的,此外尚可從作品中發現中國文字特殊的 構造使南台灣之幼兒無法像西方的幼兒享有創造性拼字的樂趣。本研究資料亦顯示孩子的年齡層及 師長介入的程度會影響到孩子的表現。最後本人提供父母、師長一些建議以協助他們對幼兒寫字這 件事能有更進一層的了解與認識。
     The purpose of this paper is to explain the stage of the writing developments of the young children in south Taiwan by means of children's hand writing and to find out the similarity of the writing developments between the Western and Chinese young children. The subjects of this paper include young children around 2 years old to six years old. The process of this study is to collect the children's hand writing "Happy Birthday" The data reveals that : (I) Observing the children's hand writing, We can find out their stage of the writing development. (II) The similarity of the writing developments between the Western and Chinese young children. (III) Because of the special structure of the Chinese words, the Chinese children can not go through the stage of invented spelling completely. In this report it also reveals that the interference of the teachers and adults will influence the children's performance. Finally, some suggestions are offered to the parents and teachers for better understand the writing behaviors of the young children.
