　　　　　十九世紀後半、二十世紀前半出版之酸性紙資料正在面臨脆壞，人類文化之記錄
內容也可能隨著實物資料之脆毀而消失。近二、三十年，此現象改變保存、維修、修護的觀
念，脫酸、修護、媒體轉換等方法也應用至這些特殊性質資料。在臺灣地區，重視電子圖書
館及電子計算機科技，原件保存及內容保存之問題尚未足夠受重視。因為圖書館仍然需要負
責保存文化之社會責任，館員應具備其問題意識、保存觀念等資料在文化中扮演的角色。此
篇論文略述保存資料之觀念，以及目前對如此資料能做何等準備及保護措施等問題。
　　　　　Materials especially printed with acidic paper in the second half of
19th and the first half of 20th centuries are in danger of deterioration, the
contents of human culture may disappear with such the physical materials.
Because of noticing this, in the past a few decades, the concepts of
conservation, preservation and restoration have been reviewed, yet effective
techniques have not yet been developed. Even though consciousness of many
library workers in Taiwan has placed on electronics and technology, the workers
who take responsibilities for preserving human culture must understand the
importance of information on physical materials, and own the knowledge and
method of preservation.
