原版德文《新萊茵報》合訂本(復制件),1959年在中國僅發行158套;加之德語人才稀少,我國以往的《新萊茵報》研究,大多集中在馬克思的個人特質和《馬克思恩格斯全集》的文本層面,沒有深入涉及到他們具體的新聞實踐活動,更談不上分析其背后廣闊的社會歷史語境。論文基于新聞時效視角,以全套原版《新萊茵報》為基礎,考察馬克思恩格斯1848-1849年辦報活動各方面新舊史料。作者逐版翻閱,發現《新萊茵報》在不到一年的時間里,除了出版正刊301號外,還有第二刊30期和各類附刊207期,其報道已經以"天/時"為時間單位,緊急新聞以"時/分"為時間單位。當時的工業革命促進了國家和民族間的交往日益頻密,動蕩的歐洲局勢也要求報紙及時報道以滿足公眾對新聞的需求。馬克思和恩格斯作為新聞工作者的強烈新聞時效意識,報紙編輯部高效精干的工作秩序,以及報紙遍布歐洲的通訊員網絡,是該報在新聞時效方面優于其他報紙的主要因素。

In 1959,the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau( CCTB) published a small number of 158 sets of original German Neue Rheinische Zeitung bound copies. Due to a lack of fluent German users,most of China’s previous research focused on Marx’s personal characteristics and the textual level of Marx and Engels Collected Works. Such research did not study their specific journalistic practice in depth nor the vast social and historical context behind it. The author reads the newspapers page by page and finds that in less than a year,the Neue Rheinische Zeitung had published Zweite Ausgabe( supplement) of the 30 th issue and Beilage( extra) of the 205 th issue in addition to the 301 th issue of the main journal. Reports had taken"day/hour"as the time unit,and emergency news had "hour/minute"as the time unit. The industrial revolution at that time promoted the increasingly frequent exchanges between countries and nations,and the turbulent European situation also required newspapers to report in time to meet the public’s demand for news. Marx and Engels’ strong awareness of news timeliness as journalists,the efficient and orderly work of the editorial department and a network of correspondents across Europe are the main factors that make the newspaper superior to other newspapers in terms of news timeliness.
