群際接觸能通過增進了解、緩解焦慮、產生共情等機制來提升群際關系,而接觸效果的泛化和接觸方式的拓展進一步使得群際接觸理論的政策應用價值大幅提升。需要注意的是,群際接觸的積極效應是有條件和存在限度的。嚴重違背最優條件可能導致消極接觸并對群際關系造成負面影響,而諸如群體文化差異和利益競爭等問題也無法在群際接觸的理論框架中得到徹底解決。民族交往交流交融政策與群際接觸理論的邏輯預設基本一致,群際接觸的相關研究對于我國促進族際交往的實踐工作具有重要啟示意義。
