研究采用"對回憶的再認"范式,從輸出監測的角度考察了操作效應的提取機制。實驗1結果顯示,被試操作任務條件下的自由回憶的系列位置成績缺乏首因效應,卻擁有擴展的近因效應;被試操作任務條件下的"對回憶的再認"成績顯著差于語詞任務下的成績,差異具體表現在組塊2~9、10、11和12上,表明在上述組塊,被試操作任務條件下的提取存在自動突顯,即操作效應得益于這些組塊在提取時的自動突顯。實驗2結果顯示,在類別測驗下,被試操作任務和語詞任務的自由回憶成績擁有相似的系列位置曲線,而"對回憶的再認"結果同實驗1。研究認為自由回憶的系列位置效應與自動突顯機制之間不存在直接的因果關系,而"對回憶的再認"范式則能敏感地測量出操作效應的提取機制。
