本研究之個案探討以台灣高科技產業之TFT-LCD(Thin-film transistor Liquid Crystal display),為研究對象,發現高科技產業導入知識管理與新產品開發策略後,對新產品開發的績效具有正面的影響。
Due to the advance of science and technology and rapid changes of market, the life cycle of a product is becoming much shorter than before. Enterprise must constantly renovate and research on new products, and choose appropriate technology and new product development strategy so as to cope with the customer’s demand and to promote his competitiveness. Therefore, new product development becomes a crucial activity for an enterprise to survive, grow, and continuous management. This study will aim at the effects of introducing of knowledge management and new product strategy on the performance of new product development for Taiwanese hi-tech enterprise. This study will conduct a survey by using the factors of financial, customer, business production process, and learning and growth of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to measure the performance of new product. Some research findings are: (1) Knowledge management has positive influence on new product performance. (2) New product development strategy has positive influence on the performance of new product development. (3) Knowledge management and new product development strategy have positive influence on performance of new product development. Some significant findings include the performance in financial increased by 5.1~10%, the performance in customer increased by 5.1~10%, the performance in business production process increased by 5.1~10%, the performance in learning and growth increased by 10.1~15% after the knowledge management and new product strategy have been introduced. A specific case analysis for Taiwanese hi-tech TFT-LCD (Thin-film transistor Liquid Crystal display) industry is performed to measure its performance. The results show the introduction of knowledge management with new product development strategy has positive influence on the performance of new product development. In addition, a company with strong and intense knowledge management implementation will have positive influence on new product performance. This assumption is significantly verified by statistics.
