臺灣的傳播研究已粗具規模,近年來更是眾聲喧嘩。但在學門形式已備之時,反而可能拘泥於現有知識形式,過度重視學門間之界限,產生訓練無能症,以致扼殺學術的想像。本文主旨有二:一為分析析一症狀之癥候,二為主張可以眾聲喧嘩為處方,發揚社區民主之精神,鼓勵不同理論和方法間之對話。
This paper argues that communication research in Taiwan, which has witnessed the emergence of a variety of perspectives, should take precautions against the possibility of trained incapacities. To be specific, communication research in Taiwan has suffered from a slavish conformity to existent forms of knowledge and has furthermore adopted an essentialist view of disciplinary knowledge. To counter this tendency, this paper proposes that the research community adopt the heteroglossic spirit as conceived by Bakhtin, thereby promoting a democratic community and encouraging dialogues among different theories and methods.
