本文中以《禮記‧樂記》及叔本華的音樂思想做此探論方式的基本比較論域，在此論域範圍之中可做一較精細及正確音樂思想上異同之探討。文中不採分論式的討論方法，以避免在學術範疇的界定及研究對象的定位上產生混雜的現象。此外，在此二學說的立論基礎上，先加以說明，了解了其背景構成要素的不同，才能更深入的對此二學說加以分析、討論。
