題名:以國際醫院評鑑提升醫療品質--以萬芳醫院為例

目的:以國際醫院評鑑作為醫療品質外部評估的機制。 方法:我國醫院評鑑自1978年衛生署開始舉辦以來,對醫療水準及病患照護品質的提升固然有很大的幫助,但如何與世界標準接軌,參加Joint commission international (JCI)的評鑑是一個最直接的選擇。 結果:萬芳醫院經過一年準備,在2006年通過JCI評鑑。JCI醫院評鑑標準一共11大章368個標準,實地訪查持續3到5天。 結論:JCI所舉辦的評鑑,是非強制性的,由醫院自由申請參加,透過遵守國際評鑑標準來達到持續改善的目標。臺灣在2006年已經有2家醫院通過JCI評鑑,勢必帶動同儕醫院接受國際評鑑挑戰的熱潮。
Objective: To apply international hospital accreditation as one of the external evaluation mechanisms of healthcare quality. Methods: Hospital accreditation was implemented in Taiwan by Department of Health in 1978 and has been very helpful in elevating healthcare level and quality. However, accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) is one of the best ways to keep abreast with international standards. Results: After one year's preparation, Taipei Municipal Wan Fang Hospital has become JCI accredited in 2006. JCI hospital accreditation standards consist of 11 chapters and 368 standards. On site survey lasts 3 to 5 days. Conclusions: Hospitals can apply for JCI accreditation voluntarily and achieve the goal of continuous quality improvement by complying with the international accreditation standards. Two Taiwanese hospitals have been accredited by JCI in 2006, which should encourage more local hospitals to take on this challenge.
