心率變異性是將臨床的心率訊號經由時域或頻域分析方法,來評估個體自律神經系統的活性,心率變異性的低頻功率可反映交感神經與副交感神經的平衡調控,而高頻功率則與副交感神經活性有關。本文介紹說明常用於心率變異性評估之時域與頻域指標,並彙整國內外心率變異性的運動科學相關研究,得到以下結論:橫斷面研究驗證不論是在安靜狀態或是運動時,規律運動者心率變異性的高頻功率皆會顯著高於坐式生活者,而顯現出較佳的心率變異性;縱貫面研究則驗證適度的高強度有氧運動訓練,可顯著提昇個體之高頻功率並減低低頻功率,來增強副交感神經活性並減緩交感神經活性。此外,有鑒於部份研究成果的不一致,本文也提出可能的原因與後續研究應注意之事項。
