An extension of the Muzha line, the Neihu line is the third elevated route built in Taipei City following the Muzha line and the Danshui line. The designs of Neihu line’s elevated stations were developed based on their public art themes and in line with station space functions and the architectural environment. The architectural design of the 10 elevated stations uses a common architectural language and elements, with variations based on the differing physical conditions surrounding individual stations, creating a unique and consistent characteristic for the whole Neihu line. The public art themes are mainly based on combining station design, interior decoration, and landscape design. The new approach to Taipei MRT station design is a great stride toward artistically designed stations.
