因應全球化的快速發展，合併後的高雄市、縣在面對瞬息多變的國際經貿環境時，需審視目前所面對的各項內外在環境因素，發揮在地的特色與優勢，據以擬定大高雄地區經濟建設策略及各項實施方案與具體措施。透過分析，本研究認為鋼鐵與金屬加工業、物流產業與遊艇及造船產業為大高雄地區具競爭優勢產業。此外，配合行政院的國土空間發展策略構想，本研究認為應持續深耕石化鋼鐵金屬產業與海洋產業等核心產業，並進一步發展觀光休閒、精緻農業、綠色能源暨生物科技及文化創意等潛力產業。

In response to the globalization and rapidly changing environment, one of important things for Kaohsiung City is to plan and implement more effective policies of industry development. The findings of this study suggest that steel and metal, logistic, and yachts manufacturing industries possess competitive advantages. In addition, this study indicates that traditional industries (i.e., petrochemical, steel, and metal) and marine industries are Kaohsiung City’s core industries that need to be strengthened continuously, and the government should further develop tourism, intensive agriculture, green energy and biotechnology, and cultural creativity industries.
