Liu Chih-chi, born at Hsu state Pon city Tsung-ting neighborhood, the first year of Tang Gao-zong (661), died Kai-yuan nine year of Tang Xuan-zong (721), aged 61. Liu worked as a chronologer more than twenty years and was full of practical experiences in the area. Yet, with all the flunkies at the time, Liu was not able to fulfill his belief. Envied by the flunkies, with sorrow in his mind, Liu clung to his belief and wrote the twenty chapters of Shi-Tong. Liu devoted his life to accurate criticism to historical books and records of the early Tang dynasty. Liu was the creator of the historical criticism in Chinese.In this article, with comparison and analysis of historical books and records, the writer try to focus on some issues that appear in the Shi- Tong; locate the correct and precise chronology of Liu's deeds and experiences. Aside from all above, the writer try to collect all related records and make them into a clear list.
