Victor-Marie Hugo is the representative of the French Romantic writers. His works are full of romanticism. He has consideratble influence in literary history. His masterpieces reflect his revolutionary spirit and viewpoints. Many critics conduct the research on Notre-Dame de Paris and Les Misérables, but few critics explore the significane of love reflected in the two masterpieces. This paper intends to offer a new perspective to explore the significance of the two works.
