Yang Shuda, as one of the famous Chinese exegesis scholars, had amalgamated the classics and historic literatures and had his distinct opinions in hermeneutics and exegesis in exploring classics. However, if we carefully review his claims, Yang's opinions had some pitfalls of misreading of sentences, over-hermeneutics, and overuses of interchangeabilities. This thesis discusses six examples of Yang's theories of Jun Shi Jie of Zuo Zhuan inorder to explore Yang's limitations and pitfalls. While affirming Yang's contributions, the author points out his pitfalls as well. The author also manifests Yang’s importance of the old notes of the classics, and we should not easily reverse Yang’s theories in order to avoid mis-hermeneutics
