孫中山先生早在20世紀初已倡導「男女平權」,女性的工作權是女權的基礎。儘管女性參與勞動已是每個社會的普同價值,然而,「同工不同酬」卻普遍存在每個社會。因此,不僅檢視該現象,而且應該提出縮小的相關政策措施。爰此,本文首先討論美國「同工同酬」的沿革,接著分述Costello和Hegewisch (2016)對於美國性別薪資差距的基本事實,總結種族和民族,教育和職業男女性別薪資差異的數據。然後,分析男女薪資差距的原因,及其對婦女及其家庭的影響,以及可以幫助縮小它的政策措施。
