The comparison of Chinese language curriculum documents between Taiwan and mainland China revealed that both focus on activity goals in lower grades, and as the grade level increases, more goals are added in terms of cultivating writing interest, improving writing process, and guiding the revision activities. However, differences were also identified in the resources of writing materials, writing skills, styles, quantity of tasks, and time limit in their writing courses. These findings can provide reference for goal-setting in the writing courses of Taiwan and Mainland China
