在一般的情況下，表演藝術家與表演藝術團體是很難僅靠著票房的收入，來持續的維持其創作與演出活動的。因此表演藝術家與表演藝術團體通常就必須要去尋求政府以及工商企業的贊助，來解決其財務收支的困難。近年來，由於國內從事表演藝術工作的個人與團體急遽增加，在政府贊助藝術經費有限的情況下，工商企業對於表演藝術所扮演的贊助角色，就相對的日益重要起來。為了能夠瞭解工商企業對於我國表演藝術所抱持的基本心態與觀點，以及他們對於是否同意贊助某項藝術活動所憑藉的依據與準則究竟為何，本研究乃以傳真問卷、電話訪談以及深度面訪的方式，隨機的向國內的工商企業進行調查訪問。結果發現，國內較具規模的工商企業雖然大都願意支持藝術活動，但仍僅侷限於對具有高知名度的藝術家或藝術團體提供贊助。此外，在決定贊助金額的標準上，也多仍是以隨心所欲的樂捐方式為其贊助準則，而較缺乏整體性以及制度性的規劃。總言之，正確贊助觀念的建立，對於促使我國工商企業贊助藝術活動與藝術團體行為的提昇與持續，是一項極待各方齊去努力的重要工作。

　　　　　Many people acknowledge that business and industry must shoulder the burdenof supporting the arts, but corporate support is often tied to specific self-interest. Moreover, big business cannot be expected to experiment, although corporatesupport to the arts is increasing. This survey study was used to profile the business sector in Taiwan for thepurpose of understanding their attitude towards supporting the arts. The surveydata, along with information gathered from the renew of relevant literature, wereused to describe the current issue of business support to the performing arts inTaiwan.
