「個案研究方法」時常為管理相關研究採用為主要研究策略(Research Strategy)。本文首先澄清「個案研究方法」有別於「個案教學法」，並闡述其與其它研究方法同樣應遵循嚴謹的研究設計與研究步驟。首先澄清個案研究方法的意義與其適用的研究問題，而後檢討現行使用個案研究方法普遍存在的問題，並提出如何運用個案研究方法從事研究，包括研究目標的擬定，研究地點的選擇，單一個案或多重個個案之設計，分析單位之決定，資料蒐集方法，以及資料分析方法等。俾使研究的整個過程，包括自研究問題至研究結論每個環節均有脈絡可循，以提高研究的信度與效度。
Case study research method is one of the major research strategies in the field of Information Sys-tems. This paper first discusses that the case research method is different from the case teaching method. The case resecrch method has to follow the rigorous research design process. This paper identifies some common problems found in some IS case study research. In addition, the paper suggests the detailed methods for applying case research method in conducting research.
