The Tang ans Sung dynasties were the golden age of Chinese Poetry. Many excellent writings were made at that period. Poetry is a special style in literature. Poetry must match the rules of format and dispensation, e.g. nember of words, the tone and rhyme, and the sentence paisr. It is quite hard to keep the rules in mind, especially today. A tool book is necessary when creating the poetry. We have designed a Chinese Poetry teaching and practicing system with the rules auto-checking function on Internet (World Wide Web), in order to help people to create their poetry in the right way. This issue is to discuss how to use computers to help people to create correct and good poetry in the information age.
