　　　　　國內外研究皆指出警察工作性質特殊，工作壓力高於其他行業，其壓力來源與一般職業亦有不同。警察人員的高自傷與身心不適應比率顯示警察人員企需協助。然而國內尚未針對警察人員建立符合國情的支援體系。而國外警務人員的諮部體系亦有其特殊文化背景，不宜直接移入國內，本研究之目的在針對我國警察人員的需要發展合宜於本土社會的警務人員面對壓力的自助體系與支援體系研究以基層員警為對象針對其面對壓力時因應方案與可能會影響其適應的人格特質，以及他們對員警輔導諮商體系的認知概念進行瞭解。
