《周易》主體精神在講變易，變易需要條件，此條件就是「時」。宇宙萬物動靜 行止必須適時，因此傳統思維非常重視時間觀念。 　　宇宙萬物，生命遷流不息，然於流行的暢旺生機中，動而不能無阻，生而不能無縛。如 何於遷流變化蹇難困頓中安身立命，或尋求去阻解縛之道，以求通達。《繫辭下傳》說：「 變通者，趣時者也。」「趣時」就是「安身立命」及「去阻解縛」的方法。如何「趣時」？ 當先了解《周易》「時」的內涵，此即本文研討的主旨所在。 　　本文主要重點有七： 　　　(一)時含有時與機的因素。 　　　(二)時含有形與勢的因素。 　　　(三)時含有境與遇的因素。 　　　(四)時含有主觀與客觀的因素。 　　　(五)時含有常與變的因素。 　　　(六)時含有必然與偶然的因素。 　　　(七)時含有可能性與現實性的因素。
