Social organization and the adaptation of the American culture for the old and the new Chinese immigrants are of eminent changes after the World War Two. These changes together with the problems incurred are of interest both for the potential investigators to proceed the research for the overseas Chinese, and for the government corresponding to make the policy of overseas Chinese affairs. This research aims to analyze the different social structures appeared among the old and new Chinese immigrants in the United States. In particular, we will investigate the background, inducement and the impact of the changes of the social organization among the old and new Chinese immigrants. Also discussed in this research project is their adaptation of the American culture. Based on the real case studies the adaptation issues will be revealed, for example, in terms of the living styles, social behavior, the sense of finance, the growth of the economy, the participation of the politics, the altitude between the ROC and the PRC, among others. The anticipated results of this research is to provide a research paper consisting of several sections each of which describe in detail about those issues mentioned above. This paper will hopefully provide an insightful view for the transforming overseas Chinese society.
