The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of Kaoshiung Metropolitan Park by the method of post occupancy evaluation (POE). The performance of the park was assessed by data collected from physical environment investigation, visitation, behavior observation and park users interview. The research findings showed that both the purposes of park design and management goals are achieved satisfactorily. Most park users are satisfied with recreation facilities, public facilities, interpretive services, park plantings and its maintenance. The strategies adopted are helpful to achieve park management goals. Based on the findings of this study, further study on the fee collection policy for park facilities is suggested. Continuous and periodical evaluating the performance of park management is recommended.
