　　　　　國內有關預防犯罪和被害恐懼方面多從社會法治層面探討；而缺乏由「環境」的角度來探討防制犯罪，雖然環境不會直接構成犯罪，但卻可能誘發或掩護犯罪行為，反應出不安全訊息，而造成使用者的被害恐懼感。本研究目的在探討何種「環境特質」會讓使用者對都市公園產生被害恐懼感;首先依據文獻回顧建立出「實質空間、環境維護、安全管理、其他使用者」四項因子為影響都市公園被害恐懼感之理論架構；其次比較不同環境類型的都市公園對使用者所產生的被害恐懼感的差異，本研究以中山公園和科博館外部綠地為實證案例，並將之命名為傳統公園型與開放綠地型。本研究結果發現實質空間、環境維護、安全管理、其他使用者影響皆與被害恐懼感具相關性，其中又以「實質空間」影響最大;且使用者在「傳統公圍型」比「開放綠地型」的被害恐懼感高。研究結果驗證了如何由環境規劃設計與管理來防制犯罪的課題的重要性。

　　　　　Most researchers studies crime prevention from the perspectives of social and legitimate, but few from environmental design. However, physical environment may cover or cause crime behavior. The purpose of this study was to explore what the environmental features most likely to cause fear of crime in urban parks. Six hundreds valid questionnaires were collected from Chung-Shan Park and National Science Museum Park in Taichung. Chung-Shan Park is a traditional urban type while National Science Museum Park is an open space type. The results showed that physical space. environment maintenance, safety management, and users' effects had influence on fear of crime. Physical space had the most contribution than the other factors. Besides, visitors felt more fear in a traditional type of park than who were in an open space type park.
