2012年莫里森的第十部小說《家》面世。作為一位書寫道德想象的黑人女作家,莫里森在該部小說中以20世紀50年代的美國為背景,敘述了3K黨種族主義暴行、朝鮮戰爭等歷史事件為美國黑人帶來的精神創傷,深刻再現了白人和黑人關系中的倫理問題。通過分析小說中美國黑人的個人與文化創傷、主人公弗蘭克的倫理選擇與創傷修復,本文認為,作為創傷小說的范例,《家》體現了作者對創傷性歷史的態度和倫理取向。

Toni Morrison’s tenth novel Home represents the traumatic impacts of historical events such as Ku Klux Klan atrocities and the Korean War on the African Americans to address ethical issues in black-white relationships.By analyzing African Americans’ individual and cultural trauma,as well as the protagonist Frank’s ethical choice and his redemption,this essay argues that Home reflects Morrison’s attitude towards the traumatic history of African Americans,indicating her ethical position by critiquing racial violence and discrimination.
