文章回顧了津巴布韋(前羅德西亞)從1948到2000年的電影制作發展之路。以1948年作為起點是因為英國政府在是年組織成立了區域性中非電影部門(Central African Film Unit,簡稱CAFU),并將其作為區域殖民當局。津巴布韋于1980年脫離英國統治并獲得獨立。筆者認為,津巴布韋自1948年之后的電影制作發展歷程可以從西方政府設立的國際發展范式加以分析。近年來也出現了推動在津巴布韋制作商業電影的呼聲,這體現了施行次區域政策的趨勢,該政策旨在促進津巴布韋以及整個非洲地區電影業的發展。事實上,西方贊助機構贊助的"信息"影片與反映新興非洲整體身份認同的非主流敘事作品之間存在著意識形態上的張力,而津巴布韋電影制作企業就在這一張力中掙扎。
