北京與華府基於不同的考慮，建立「建設性戰略伙伴關係」。雙方有共同的利益；亦有分歧的利益，致既有合作，又有競爭，目前是非敵非友，未來不排除相互敵對的。

As a result, their relations are a combination of cooperation and competition. They are not adversarial nor friendly. But no one can exclude the possibility that Beijing and Washington may become enemies in the future.
