多瑪斯根據事物的「管理」，為上帝的存在提出了兩種不同的論證，其一見於哲學大全，其二見於神學大全，後者便是所謂的「第五路」。首先，就形上學而言，第五路被認為更加重要，因此才選入神學大全中。其次，筆者處理這個論證的有效性的問題，強調這個論證是以絕對的基礎經驗為根據。

　　　　　Thomas Aquinas presents two different argument for the existence of a God based on the "government" of things, one in the Summer contra Gentiles and one is the Summa Theologiae, the latter the so-called "Fifth way". First. I argue that the Fifth way is metaphysically more fundmental, for which reason it is selected for use in the later Summa. Secondly, I address the question of the argument's validity, alling attention to its foundation in absolutely fundamental experience.
