That paddy rice is an important crop in Kuanghsi, but then its production yields from everywhere were existing big differences among regions due to the diversity of natural geographic conditions. Thus that many regions in the southeast and the south were the ones where were in abundant foodstuffs. The rice prices were diverse from everywhere because of the variation of region, time, production yields. In regard with the time of flood and drought disaster, the degree of rice-price going up was more different from each other depending on regions, time. The rice produced in Kuanghsi had been transported to Fukien and Canton during the declining years of Ming Dynasty, but up to the Chin Dynasty, the rice of Kuanghsi was only sold to Canton. In view of the above mentioned, the sale of the rice from Kuanghsi were apparently regional and confined. In the famine period, Kuanhsi purchasing the grains was from the same province or from Canton or Hunan. However, Purchasing from canton had been restricted only in Ming Dynasty; this was because early on the Chin Dynasty, Canton was already a province of server shortage of foodstuffs. In addition, Kuanghsi and been every purchasing the rice from Hunan during non famine period. As Kuanghsi adjoins Hunan, so that the rice imported from Hunan into Kuanghsi had large quantity been transferred to Canton.
